Onboarding matters more than we sometimes realise. It sets the tone for everything that follows. đ±
If you want to get the best out of a new hire, start with clarity. Make sure the position description is grounded in real life, not something auto-generated that doesnât reflect the role as itâs actually performed. Bring the role to life so your new team member understands what success looks like from day one.
Clear expectations are critical. Whether thatâs key performance indicators, result areas, or another framework your organisation uses, people need to know whatâs expected and have the tools to do their job well. A simple workbook, clear documentation, or a structured plan can make all the difference.
Great onboarding also helps people understand the business, not just their role in it. A clear progress plan through the first 90 days builds confidence, capability and connection.
Your organisationâs success is closely tied to the success of your new hires. When onboarding is collaborative and intentional, everyone wins. Do it together and youâll see the results. đ
